Music: is my obsession. I have been a fan of rock music since second grade, and I have this strange obsession with it. I get glassy-eyed over it. Heavy metal is probably, in my opinion, some of the best music out there. I love getting my ears torn up by screams from my favorite bands.
Hunting: Since age 12, I have been a die-hard huntress. Deer, pheasant, and squirrel. I used to be against hunting, but once I took the class, I realized how good it is for the environment, how hunting is not killing, and what a connection with nature you get through it. I want to participate in the natural world, rather than observe. A hunter is a predator hunting in a world where predatory belongs. Humans are predators.
Hummers: Yes, Hummers. Okay, those of you going "Oh, jeez, those gas hogs??!!!??!?" FYI H3s probably get better mileage than your truck (if you have one). We're talking 20mpg highway, people. My dad's truck gets 15 mpg highway (GMC Sierra). Anyway, the reason I love Hummers is the off-roading capabilities (H3):
-8.5 inches ground clearance
-Ford 24 in. of water at 5mph, 16 in. at 20
-Scale a 60% slope
-40% side slope
-Can climb a 16 in. vertical wall
Plus they look cool. And the website is entertaining.
Volleyball: This is my 7th year of volleyball, and I am passionate about it. I will play it anytime, anyplace, but I prefer not to play with people who can't pass their way out of a paper bag. If you can't pass, you can't play. Unfortunately I can name more than one person on our team who cannot pass. I'm captain, so I shouldn't be saying that, but it's true, and I'm sure the other captains, and the coach, would agree.
Food: I love food. Most of you who know me well know this. My records:
-Five tacos plus dessert at Taco John's
-A whole large Papa John's pepperoni pizza
-(Recent record!!!9/15/07): Four Sloppy Joes, three bags of potato chips, a cookie, and nachos @ Varsity Volleyball Tournament. Normally, I eat:
-As a snack, a whole box of mac&cheese
-Whole Papa Murphy's medium garlic chicken pizza
-Spicy chicken patty, cheese fries, Izze, and maybe chips (normal school lunch)
Dresses: I love wearing dresses (when appropriate). I love to pair them up with just the right earrings, bracelets, and always a necklace. I love evening gowns that are slender and shiny and silky, down to my ankles, with a matching pair of shoes. Glitter in my hair, which I like tied in a bun. That, is the perfect look for weddings, etc.
Nighttime: I am, in a sense, nocturnal. I am so much more happy at nighttime. I guess I love it so much more than day. I love to sit and stare into the darkness, not making a sound, just listening to the world. The best times of my life was when I was out in the middle of the woods in pitch darkness, waiting for shooting light to begin and end. Everything is so calm, peaceful. It's like my senses are superalert. I can hear every rustle, every breath, see into the darkest corners. It's just amazing at night. The day is too lively and loud, and...awake.
Cats: I have a cat. I love him. But I just love cats in general. They're so lithe, and elegant, and beautiful. Sure, dogs are okay, I like certain dogs, but I just love cats. My favorite animal is the tiger. Tigers are amazingly beautiful, and powerful, and strong. They're just awesome.
