Biography of Amelia JacksonOn March 13th 1983 Amelia C. Jackson was born in Jackson, Mississippi to Milton Earl Jackson and Audrey Connie Jackson. She arrived to meet her other siblings two older sisters and one older brother. When Amelia was six weeks old her family along with her moved to Compton, California. Growing up in an area like this did not keep Amelia from dreaming and having high expectations for her life.
Amelia always wanted to sing, she began singing at the age of 3 in the local church children’s choir. When she was 10 years old she and her family moved north of California to Lancaster, where she continued to pursue singing, she joined the local school choir and performed at different places including the Lancaster Performing Arts Center and the entire Lancaster Elementary School. By this time Amelia was use to performing in front of large number of crowds. She went on to junior high school where she pursued music and joined the school band where she played the bass clarinet, clarinet, and the flute.Later in her high school years she joined the school choir which they would go to competitions and won nothing less than 3rd place. It was then Amelia thought of making singing out of a career. So Amelia began to sing on the church’s praise team and choir where she quickly on became the praise team leader and the choir director. She then began to work with the children of “Worship & Praise Deliverance Ministriesâ€, under the leadership of her mother Rev. Dr. Audrey Battles, in praising God in dance, the called themselves 3rd Level. 3red Level has been all over California performing in large and small numbers of audiences. It was very important to Amelia to perform well whither it was a large number or small because it was God she was pleasing and not man. Amelia went on to college and sang with the Gospel Choir of Antelope Valley College under the direction of Dorothy Cage. While in this choir Amelia sang a number of solos. She also participated in a recording project for “Terry Bradford†where she sang backup.After giving some serious thought to making this a singing career she began to look for opportunities and which one of them was “American Idol†the 5 season, which she was not lucky enough to get picked. She was involved in different programs and competitions which also failed and Amelia was starting to give up on her dream of being a Gospel Artist. So she began to look for work and found her first job as a receptionist at a nation wide gym. Later she work as a sales associate at a nation wide retail store and then a child care provider in a group home for girls and a local daycare.Since then Amelia has been signed to an independent recoding label and still have high hopes and big dreams for herself she plans to do a lot of things and not just being a gospel artist. She plans on helping out the community, troubled teens, teen mothers etc
