Music:
I've been putting off this section for fear of the complication of it-that I would forget stuff and it would be too long. Now I realize both are inevitable, so whatever. I like all types of music, but tend to listen to musical genres in "phases" and am now in a "radio hard rock" phase for the most part, also like some but like some classic rock, especially "stadium rock" bands and 80's hair bands; some hip hip-hop, pop/punk, 70's/80's funk,(and some disco, and some 80's new wave and dance, 90's grungy and alt rock,metal-of course- some old country (no new-it sux), some accoustic-y singer-songwriter stuff, some electronica, blah blah blah...I'll throw up a long boring list of bands I dont feel like dealing with now....
...
Movies:
I'm doing movies before music because it's easier...here goes: I probably like the mob/crime genre the most: Goodfellas, Casino, Heat, Blow, The Usual Suspects, The Italian Job, Ocean's Eleven, The Godfather (1&2), Resevior Dogs, I own them all..A Bronx Tale is great too (the door test?) The Boondock Saints...I love the 80's teen stuff: Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Better Off Dead, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Outsiders, Some Kind of Wonderful, Less Than Zero,Saturday Night Fever, then there's Being John Malkovich, Heathers, Stripes, It's a Mad, Mad World, Airplane!, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Grease, Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, Bring it On, Clueless, There's Something About Mary, Friday, Con Air, Face/Off, Swingers, Fight Club,True Romance, Singles, Reality Bites, Boogie Nights, Rock Star, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,The Good Girl, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Saving Silverman (The Best Jack Black movie, cuz he's teamed up w/ Steve Zahn!-I've seen this one like 20 times, I'd see it 20 more), Employee of the Month (u gotta check this one out), The Whole Nine Yards, The Princess Bride, Poison Ivy, The Opposite of Sex, Fargo, Trees Lounge (one of my all time favorites-luvin Stevie B.), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Short Cuts and The Player (Go Altman!), Edward Scissorhands, Albino Aligator, Crash, Meet the Parents (Stilllahh), Old School, Envy, Dodgeball, American Beauty, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Family Man, The Longest Yard (Adam Sandler version), Wedding Crashers, Homefries, Legends of the Fall, A River Runs Through it, Almost Famous, Bourne Identity, Get Shorty and Be Cool....ok, I can tell I'm losing you, and finaly, I'm a sucker for some Elvis movies and so far my favorite "old" movie is "Jane Eyre" with Orson Welles...and I know I left out at least 20......
Television:
I've been watching a lot less TV lately...my new fave show is Studio 60 on NBC w/ Matt Perry...and I love "Medium".I like HBO shows-Six Feet Under-still the best show ever(re-runs on Bravo)...I like Bravo and VH1, they have some good fun shows on when I have the time...try to catch SNL every week if it's new...I love Smallville, but never catch it anymore...oh, Wife Swap is my guilty pleasure show right now...Mon./ABC-that shit is FUNNY.......
Books:
I've been reading a lot of Dr. Seuss books aloud at night to my daughter...they make my mouth hurt...I have a a self-help library in my room and parenting books too...they collect dust...I like to buy books, then not read them....or start them, and not finish...
Heroes:
Carrie and Samantha from "Sex and the City"; Wonder Woman,(Linda Carter version); Kelly and Jill from the original cast of "Charlie's Angels"; Joan Jett...(I so wanted to be her when I was 13); Madonna, (Duh-it's fucking Madonna! No-really I love her openness about her sexuality and "No Apologies" attitude); Women like Jenny Mc Carthy and Pammy A.- They balance motherhood with sexiness, and can totally make fun of themselves, too.
Then, Chris Daughtry, who should have won American Idol-he was the best, I love him!
Actors-Vince Vaughn, Johhny Depp, Christopher Walken, Jack Black... Actresses: Halle Berry for being so damn hot and an Oscar winner...Jen Aniston, for her public humiliation with "Brangelina" and handling it with total class...And of course Elvis, Johnny Cash, John Wayne, and my granddaddy.
