AMY MEYERS

About Me

Amy Meyers has been active in the San Francisco singer/songwriter scene since 1991 as a front for The Plain Folk Band, Girls! Girls! Girls!, Amy Meyers Trio, and The Amy Meyers Band. In that time, she has released 5 CDs and played numerous times in Bay Area venues. As a graduate from the theatre department at Northwestern University, it is no surprise that in addition to the music scene, Amy has appeared in several stage productions singing, acting, and usually playing an instrument or two. She has appeared in a leading role in 5 different productions of the hit OFF-BROADWAY musical, COWGIRLS.Her original music has been heard on several radio stations across the nation and has earned her recognition as a featured artist on KFOG (San Francisco), a finalist in the LILITH FAIR TALENT SEACH CONTEST, and Best Song awards from The WEST COAST SONGWRITERS ASSOCIATION. Her music has also gained a reputation with other well-known artists in the music community. Singer/Songwriter, SARA HICKMAN recently licensed Amy's song "Good" from the Strange & Beautiful album to go on her new release, MOTHERLODE coming out in June 2006.Here's how a fan decribes Amy: "a truly gifted multi-instrumentalist (she plays a mean cello) singer songwriter with a strong stage presence, a sincere talent for words, and a penchant for rocking out. Yeah, and she's hot too."Amy Meyers COMP Video 2004-2006
