Well it all really got started back in the day when all I could do in the cypha was beatbox. I’d beatbox until I couldn’t breathe no more and collapse, hit the floor like the boom bap. I’d listen to Digital underground, Naughty by Nature, Grand Puba, Biggie, Tupac,……wishing I could spit but I couldn’t get more than two “WELL thought out†lines out…hahha then nothing!haha
Then one blunted evening after my boys birthday party, we were wilin’ out and shit over some instrumentals and I just jumped in and BOOOOM!!………and I neva jump out!!
Since that day I been on some shit!!! I recorded for the first time with my ppls, there was 4 of us so we call ourselves 4Pillars……we was(is) dope!!
This all happened while I was going to school at McMaster in Hamilton, H-Towwwwwn!
After dat summer I needed some place to “do my shit!!†so I started up and hosted an open mic/showcase event called ONE MIC. “ I luuuaad dat shit!†big up KeN @ pepper jack’s café…..and of course ACA
Oh yeah I also had a radio show called “UPrising†on the campus radio CFMU 93.3fm. We (my co-host and I) described like … “a spiritual living room†meaning, we basically said what we want and played what we liked and keep everything relevant and real. The best part was when Damien “Jr Gong†Marley came thru from Jamaica….big up Christian!
After I got my piece of paper from school…I rolled a PHAT blunt with IT!……hahaha...
4Real though, after school and shit, I eventually got a J O B…I hated the shit…but they paid me! iT was around that time I found Sound Lounge, or maybe Sound Lounge found me. Big up Dan the Man!! Shout out everyone @ ESC!
In tru hip hop style I became the host of Sound Lounge…..Now life itself is a blessing… YES but I am truly blessed to be able to hear/meet/collaborate with sooooooo many talented musicians and people in general.
Right now the story is mine, but as they say, the rest is HIStory…
