MJ a.k.a Miles Jones grew up in his hometown Toronto surrounded by music from a very young age. His interest in music creation and appreciation is very deeply rooted as a part of his family heritage. His Grandfather, Hedley Jones Sr. built Studio One in Jamaica which was the early recording home to reggae legend Bob Marley along with many others. His father, (Deadly) Hedley Jones Jr. came from Jamaica to Toronto in 1969 and began working in the radio industry eventually pioneering Toronto 's DJ club scene during the late 1980's. Miles remembers, Both my mother and father played music all the time in our house, from Miles Davis to Stevie Wonder, and it became a part of me.
In 2004 Miles wrote eleven songs for BMG's music catalogue as a part of the Canadian Idol writers conference. He also got his first production credit in February 2005 on Mike Ford's album titled,'Canada Needs You.' Miles graduated from McMaster University in 2006 with his honours degree in Multimedia and Communication. His senior thesis project included his debut album, 'ONE CHANCE' which was reviewed by NOW magazine, Hamilton's The VIEW, and Toronto's Beach Metro Publication. ONE CHANCE is currently available across HMV and indigo outlets nation wide.
Miles has opened with shows for Souls of Mischief, Sean Price and Ed. O.G,
K-OS and Mr. Roam and many more. He is currently working on a new album set to release in late 2008.
