The Jones Project

Hedley Jones Sr. has made one of the most signifcant contributions to Jamaican music and, as a consequence, the world. Jones is the creator of the first electronic guitar in Jamaica, "The Jones Guitar" (1940). Mr. Jones also built the legendary Studio One home to reggae greats Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and many more. He served as vice-president of the Jamaican Federation of Musicians from 1968 to 1985 and then was elected president that same year. In 1994 the Jamaican Government awarded Jones the Order of Distinction for his service in the field of music. He continues to pass the torch of his new musical ideas and innovation to his sons namely, Hedley Jones Jr. and his grandson Miles Jones a.k.a MJ.
