Jemima Trilogy

...and it cuts like a knife.

About Me

Hi, my name is Uisdean Murray and I'm a filmmaker based in Scotland. This page is for my short film trilogy about a young woman called Jemima and her "difficulties" with relationships.
As a concept Jemima started out as a radio play developed by Uisdean and Alan Hutton in 2001. The character and story of Jemima, a woman who chops up her boyfriends before they dump her, felt perfect for a short film. Joy McAvoy, a talented young actress fresh out of drama school was chosen to play the role.
It was only after reactions to Jemima: Dating is Murder (2002) that the potential for exploring the intriguing character of Jemima was realised. Each film would have a different style and would not rely on any of the other films, they must stand alone.
In 2004 the prequel Jemima: Photographic Trophy was completed, this was a much darker tale than the first installment dealing with the loss of innocence.
Jemima: Sessions of the Mind (2007) starring Joy McAvoy and Jo Menzer is currently in production.
