Singer, Songwriter and Actor L.O.S. was born in Ponce Puerto Rico on July 12 1980, where he grew up in a strict Christian household. He was an only child raised in a large family of religious Latin gospel vocalists. L.O.S., his mother, grandmother and aunts would occasionally sing in the local church’s devotional. So growing up in a strict religious household, L.O.S. would be limited to playing by himself all the time , fighting his older uncles, watching lots of TV, acting the shows out and listening to all sorts of music. Loving the latest Pop & R&B music in the 80’s from Menudo, Juan Gabriel, Michael Jackson, Salsa King Hector Lavoe, and Merengueros like Jossy Esteban y Bonny Cepeda. In 1989 he moved to the United States to live with his mother in New York City in the Bronx . There, he steered away from religion and gained a love for the streets where he got into mischief and listened to all sorts of Hip Hop and R&B. Growing up in the Boogie Down Bronx, at the age of 12 he developed a passion for comedy and acting. He dreamed about being a young entrepreneur, and aspired to be an R&B vocalist. Soon after, he realized his unlimited superstar potential. L.O.S. began his music and acting pursuit in South Bronx H.S. Throughout his four years there, he sang in every talent show and acted in drama plays. After graduating H.S. he was approached by a Jr. School Neighborhood Worker (also known as a Spark Peer Player) to audition for the Board of Education Spark Peer Player Counseling position. As a Peer Player he honed his singing, songwriting and acting skills and even did some dancing. He performed for H.S. students all over New York City’s 5 boroughs’ toughest schools delivering a message of Drug, Alcohol, and AIDS awareness through the art of song and dance. His acting prowess landed him a small role in an independent PBS movie documentary about the life of Latin author PIRI THOMAS “Every Child is Born a Poet†and another independent film called “212â€. There he was approached by the manager of a Merengue & Reggeton Group called the MALKRIADOS, then signed to Rincon Musical Rec. He quickly took the lead, not only singing but also rapping and choreographing dances. As the show-stopping lead singer of the group MALKRIADOS he took over the night club scene in 2000, selling out Jimmy's Bx Cafe, Latin Quarters, Rhumba and even performing solo with Platinum selling group "FULANITO". After a serious financial disagreement between him and former management , L.O.S. stepped aside to hone his writing skills and grow up some, hitting the streets once again and set to learn the ways of the vicious music business. The turning point for the ambitious singer occurred in 2002 when he reunited with his industry attuned H.S. friend and super producer Jowe Blkk. L.O.S. left the streets alone and co-wrote his first solo album with Jowe Blkk called “LIFE ON DA STREETS†which also stood for his name L.O.S. Now its 2006 and L.O.S. is an artist of substance , down to earth , humble and intelligent, L.O.S stands apart from today’s limited vocalists. Unlike them, he breaks molds and takes risks. L.O.S. has collaborated with some of today’s hottest artists, all in different genres of music such as Bachata Groups UNIQUE and EVOLUCION, and Hip Hop & Rap entities Blkk Steel Ent, 2nd Nature Productions, Regulator Ent, Lay-em Down Rec. He will soon collaborate with RCA records male champion vocalist DANTE and BMI’s R&B sensation Jeannie Ortega. To be succinct, L.O.S. is an artist of innovation, who will appeal to a wide spectrum of people for a long time coming. When not in the studio L.O.S. is promoting and acting. You can catch L.O.S. in the new upcoming independent film series by SPANGLISH MAGAZINE. “ IN DA MIX “.
