I like comics. I like comics a lot. That's just something you will have to accept. I read comics, I draw comics and during the day things will happen that will remind me of stuff I've seen in comics. My tastes lean towards the more "alternative" or "underground" types (the books you see under the heading "Graphic Novels"). I'm not going to launch into a list of my favorite cartoonists because there are too many. Just ask. I like the occasional Superhero stuff too, but I'm not a completist who knows every storyline by heart, so don't dismiss me if I don't know the secret identity of Peter Parker's long lost niece, ok fanboy? I also like Manga and Anime (some, that is) and weird animation.I love traveling, bookstores, dark and smoky coffeehouses, unique little art galleries, listening to bands, big cities, small towns and the countryside. I don't like suburbs. .. width="425" height="350" ....

Violent Femmes, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Neil Young, Boomtown Rats, The Cramps, Jonathan Richman, Barenaked Ladies, The The, Sublime, The Toasters, Kate Bush, Aimee Mann, The Sugarcubes, The Cleopatra Grip,They Might Be Giants, The Beatles, Adam Green, Perry Como, Velvet Underground...you know.
Sex In The City, Red Dwarf, The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Six Feet Under. Kids In The Hall and Mr. Show reruns. And, um...*whispers* Golden Girls. That's about it. Don't ask me if I watched American Idol last night. I didn't. (Oh, um, and I watch Cartoon Network. And Adult Swim. I love Johnny Bravo and the Power Puff--what? Stop looking at me like that!)
I like Sci-Fi.
I read books without pictures once in awhile. I love Bill Bryson's travel books, Graham Greene, Andy Warhol and Joe Orton's diaries, P.G. Wodehouse, Flannery O'Conner, Margaret Atwood, David Sedaris, Joy Williams, Jonathan Lethem, Martin Amis, the LOTR trilogy, Julian Barnes, Jeanette Winterson, Ian McEwan, Annie Dillard and British mysteries by Reginald Hill, P.D. James and Ruth Rendell. Just to name a few.
And while you are at it, read my good friend Sam's book...
Him. (Chris Knight, that is. Not Val Kilmer.)
