...made his professional stage debut at age three.
He has not relinquished the light since.
Early on he gave his life to CHRIST and committed himself to ministering before CHRIST JESUS - His lord, savior, and master.
Djore's accomplishments on stage are as wide as his five-octave range... ...singing Jazz, Soul, Neo-Soul, Pop, Classical, and of course GOSPEL...
...which have all afforded him numerous accolades and honors, including Downbeat Magazine's coveted DeeBee award for Best High School Jazz Vocalist and winner of Kirk Franklin's "Unsung Singers" Contest among others.
At age 16 he founded the gospel ensemble Power In Praise (PIP), at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, TX, the same school that birthed the Grammy award winning choir, God's Property, which Djore' also performed with. Some of the performance venues for PIP included: the "Verizon African-American Read-in", the Junior Black Academy of Arts and Letters (now the Black Academy of Arts and Letters), and many area churches including The Potter's House, Concord MBC, and Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. PIP was also active on the commercial performance circuit providing music for industrial shows for Ameri-Credit, Washington Mutual, and Bank One, as well as studio session work at most of Dallas-Ft. Worth's major studios.
In 2000 Djore' accepted a position as Choir Director and the Assistant Minister of Music at the St. Luke "Community" United Methodist Church, at that time under the pastorate of Dr. Zan W. Holmes Jr. and currently under the pastorate of Rev. Tyrone D. Gordon. St. Luke is one of the largest churches in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area far exceeding five-thousand members. The music ministry includes ten choirs, 5 of which Djore' led. Under his leadership the Youth Choir grew from twenty to over seventy-five members. Djore' was also active in the spiritual life of the youth at the church leading bible studies and worship conferences.
It was at St. Luke that Djore' perfected his vocal instruction skills, which he had begun doing as a student in high school. Eventually he had a private voice studio of over twenty students. While at St. Luke, Djore', along with QEI Productions, founded the Oluwa Voice Camp for Teens. The focus was to reinforce healthy singing free of charge to youth that could not afford professional voice lessons. Many of those are now young adults in college currently studying music full-time.
In 2003 Djore moved to New York City. Upon moving, he performed background vocals for many artists, including Celine Dion, Sarah Brightman, Anwar Robinson and Chyna Blac. Currently he resides in Brooklyn, New York and is attending the Juilliard School full-time pursuing his bachelor's degree in Opera which he will receive in May 2007.
