Ok ... firstly I must apologize for leaving an update for this long *hangs head in shame* but life has been pretty hectic of late and I just haven't got round to changing anything [which includes my website, oops!] ... Still it's better late than never ... so I'm told LOL ... So - the latest ... many of you will have seen me talk about the new album and our plans to have it ready and available before Christmas ... it may not have escaped your notice but it's still not done. I now have a warning for all NEVER TAKE SOMEONE'S WORD ON THEIR ABILITIES ... CHECK CHECK AND DOUBLE CHECK!!!! In a nut shell our mixing engineer was more mouth than ability and the only award he would win from me is his ability to kill music stone dead! To say I wasn't happy would be un underestimation of my reaction ... but life is all about learning and from that I learnt!! So that basically left us back at square one! Sadly, he had also been responsible for the actually recording of the tracks and [without going into technical details] didn't know his gain from his volume, which left us a whole new set of problems to deal with ... hence the huge delay in this project! ... Now how-ever things are off again and I am expecting to have the finished cd in a couple of months ... They say everything that happens in life has a reason and as a result of the delay the cd will be mixed with the addition of keys ... so from that point of view it makes it a positive delay LOL ... So, there you go ... that about brings up guys up to date with things in the land of Laura ... and I promise I won't leave it so long before the next time I update! ... For now, peace and love to all those who enter this page ... and remember to make this world a better place start by taking that small step yourself, others will follow :o)

Band Members: Laura Wood and Jef Bax are the main force behind this new recording project, which began over a year ago. A more recent addition to this project is guitarist, Brian Quite ... who has added yet another dimension to the music! And I am proud to anounce we have completed our recording!! The tracks are now in the process of being mixed ... and as soon as is possible I will be holding the finished master in my hand! There-in lies another journey begining ...All updates will be posted as they happen! We are now busy planning our big launch ... lots to get done before that!!
Influences: Far too many to mention, or perhaps it's none!!Obviously what we hear through-out our lives colours the way we produce our own sounds . . . but when I think back to the music my parents were listening to when I was a kid, well, it was hardly rock and roll!!! So I guess what I have listened to along the way has rolled up into what I throw back out there . . .I will share the names of some musicians I admire though . . . whether or not they influence my sound - I'll let you decide! - Beth Hart, an amazing force of nature! Screaming Cheetah Wheelies, maybe not that well known, but true masters of their art! Counting Crows, I just love their stuff! Nickleback, you're never too old to rock out ya know! Black Crows, I know, more Black, but hey these guys are cool!! Melissa Etheridge, a giant in her own right! Blof, a Dutch band who sing in Dutch, but I liked their sound even before I could understand them! Goo Goo Dolls, Iris . . . what a song! James Blunt, I love what he's doing!I'll add more as they come to mind . . .
