Andre Tarvkovsky's Solaris & Stalker; call me common and uncultured, but I prefer the zeferrelli version of hamlet (the one with mel gibson) over all the others: it just looks better, gibson makes a good Hamlet, & helena bonham carter's version of ophelia going crazy brings me to tears everytime I see it. Although I am warming up to the POMO version with ethan Hawke.
Television:
I know it's pathetic, but I'm addicted to ER and, even worse, Judging Amy. Although I find myself offended by Amy's pollyannish form of liberilism. The Daily Show with Jon Steward & Aqua Teen Hunger Force. And oh yeah, Scrubs is one the classiest shows TV has had to offer.
Books:
I love the readers and writers series: comic books that introduce you to major thinkers (such as Sartre, Lacan, Derrida, Postmodernism, etc.)
Heroes:
Timothy Leary, Christ, Martin Luther King & Malcome X, Clinton, Both Bill and Hillary, Carter, both Jimmy and Billy, John F Kennedy, Johnson (I think he got screwed on vietnam), Kevin Bacon because of the guts it must have taken to play a child molester in Woodland (I mean as insidious as it is, it's still something that needs to be explained), Would say mother theresa but her statement to the world would to be too useful to those who would oppose me, let me see......will have to think about it
