Drummer/Percussionist Workin' for a Livin'

About Me

This page is best viewed with Internet Explorer at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768
Brian Hickman is a 28 year old drummer/percussionist currently based out of Brooklyn, NY. While he does have a formal orchestral percussion music education (see Résumé below), his main forte is drumset, and his current abilities as a drummer are for the most part self-taught and a result of Brian's strong work ethic and of his performing, touring, and recording experience with various talented groups and artists over the years. Brian's natural inclination towards hard work and his unrelenting determination is what stands out to many about him, and what makes him both always prepared for the gig and working until it's over.
Brian has experience with most all genres of music, and his strong point playing-wise is his groove and tight pocket. This has led to him doing a large amount of work in genres such as funk, funk rock, hip-hop, jazz fusion, Latin jazz, and as of late, live electronica, which is Brian's main current creative interest, and a big part of why he recently relocated to NYC in particular.
