About Me
battle battle CD is available by mail-order, or @ Record Theatre in Buffalo.
Jason Pfaff is available for hire for studio sessions, live shows, producing/engineering, and his favorite forte, re-mixing. Email now for details. Jason plays with Pfaff, Flood, and Gorman in Buffalo, and attends college for Music and Business while teaching suzuki-style piano and drums on the side. He is the brother of the late great Kristen Pfaff: activist, and bassist of the bands Hole (Geffen Records) and Janitor Joe (Amphetamine Reptile Records). Jason managed and played drums for the rock trio Rainbow Girls, a staple in Buffalo’s mid 90’s “south loft scene†for 5 years. Rainbow Girls were signed to Buffalos own Cashcow Records with other bands like Milf, Tugboat Annie and Lolipop. Cashcow internationally released their 7†vinyl single “Brainbomb†in 1996, gaining a review in Bilboard magazine next to Foreigner:) The band toured briefly but played a lot of shows all over Buffalo. Pfaff then moved on to focus on his experimental electronic-based projects aka Ribcage. This involved collaborations with infamous Buffalo artists such as Steve Baczkowski, dj Tommee, dj Marcos and the Knowmatic Tribe, and performances at several Buffalo based multi-media events in that time, notably Craig Reynold’s ‘Murder the Word’ shows in conjunction with Basta! Magazine, featuring other local artists such as Tony Conrad, Mark Freeland, and the Crash Orchestra.
Jason Pfaff is currently playing in the trio Pfaff, Flood, and Gorman, working with a new multi-media project “battle battle’, and a newly conceptualized company, Nowon Productions. His latest ‘Battle Battle’ EP, more accessibly reflects a mixture of ethereal electronic based compositions with big beats and elements of classical, r+b, dance and sound-scapes. Jason collaborated with Anthony Casuccio for the re-mastering and final production of 'Battle Battle'. Anthony has engineered and re-mastered for Eliades Ochoa (Buena Vista Social Club), Cypress Hill, Nas, Johnny Cash, the London Symphony Orchestra, and many others. The Battle Battle full-length LP is due to be released by Sept. 2008. Battle Battle EP is available now at Record Theatre in Buffalo, or by mail-order.
