Ok, I don't like writing these things...but here goes. I grew up in a very small town called Caledon East. I've been playing the piano since 7 and have been classically trained in RCM. After highschool I attended Humber College's music program and realized there's a whole lot more to music and my eyes were opened. That's when I was told to improvise....and I said "you want me do what???" I had no idea what they were talking about. When I tried, it was probably one of the most scary things I've ever had to do. I have to say attending Humber has done so much for me musically and in a way has "freed me".
I've always wanted to write my own songs and I remember being around 9 or 10 and wondering "how the heck is someone able to write their own songs!" It wasn't until I was about 16 that I finally tried and it was at that point that I realized....I sucked at it!!! Geez....I needed practice! By age 19 I got very busy with teaching piano and playing weddings and trying to do as much as possible to keep me busy musically...meanwhile still writing songs. A few years later I discovered I could sing a song pretty good and got a good reaction from people (who I allowed to listen to me.....cuz I used to be extremely shy). When I started to sing my own songs....things began to sound a lot different...and I liked what I heard. I've recently picked up the guitar and have not put it down since.....I love it! So there's a basic life journey...if you want to know anymore, just ask me! :)Get Your Own! | View Slideshow
