About Me

our new EP "the no sound of philadelphia" is now for sale.
this makes us want to share real bad.
and only for 5 bucks.
please click "BUY" and we'll ship you a copy right away
"the no sound of philadelphia" is also for sale at the following record stores, which i will randomly type because they are all very special in their own way and you should spend all your money there anyway: AKA, REPO and LONG IN THE TOOTH on 21st and Sansom
The Failed Alliance was born kicking and screaming but the doctor fed it a lemon doused in horse radish and said to take it like a man.
Christian and Timothy share musical history and some blood, but their mutual animosity just makes everyone want to quit until they remember the joy they're bringing the world.
Thom has come to hate the band so much he thinks his propulsive rhythms and crashing accents are punishment. Lucky for the band, he doesn't realize how integral that is to the sound.
Micah's guitar howls like a teenager plugging his ears to drown out his parents' arguing, and then goes lush like the hiccups after a good cry.
Weaned on everything from Mogwai and The Dismemberment Plan to My Bloody Valentine and Will Oldham, the only thing The Failed Alliance can agree on is the need to go to the store for juice before practice turns into a brawl.
But this baby is growing up fast, and it's going to be beautiful. If it lives long enough.
REVIEWS:
"The time must come when you and your band will be featured on Oprah or Ellen or some local station near you. Your music has a special magic. Someone big will discover it soon and give you guys a contract. ..and that is what I pray."
--my grandma Hilda (5/29/05)
"The first song off The Failed Alliances mp3 demo playlist is all clattery drums and gliding spookdrone guitars and echoey abandoned vocals and its only 2 mins and 23 seconds long which means you have to replay it a lot. Go and get it."
--Warren Ellis
"Melancholic melodies combine with a lo-fi wall of sound in the first demo from The Failed Alliance, an upand-coming Philadelphia four-piece. The songs plaintive lyrics are matched by Timothy Tebordos ragged but resonant tenor and are given life by sweeping harmonies, pulsing drums, and dynamic guitars that alternately swell, crunch, and fall away. Though the bands bio refers to the mutual animosity and clashing personalities of its members, their music presents an impressively cohesive front of moody atmospherics and earnest songwriting. Perfect, I gotta say, for a live show."
