"There are some enterprises in which a careful disorderliness is the true method." Moby-Dick, or The Whale, Chapter 82, "The Honor and Glory of Whaling"
My life is a drunken blur, except for those times when a chunk of memory sneaks up behind me, beats me senseless, takes about a hundred bucks and leaves me for dead. When that happens I write it down, it's my way of getting even. Also, I can't dance, but if you hum a few bars I can fake it.
My current art project (besides writing) is drawing photos I find in the newspaper that I like with Sharpies. (Not that I've done either in way too long.)
Here is a story:
Did you ever read that book by Kafka called 'The Metamorphosis?' You know Kafka, right? Do you know the book? It's about this guy who turns into a big bug.
So anyway, the first line of the book goes like this: "Gregor Samsa" - that's the main character - "Gregor Samsa awoke from unsettling dreams to find himself transformed into a gigantic insect."
Well, this morning I awoke from unsettling dreams. It's unusual, because I never remember my dreams. So all day I've been trying to figure out whether I've become a gigantic insect.
I am a Cancer. I hear that means I have unusual psychic abilities. I think it may be true. I hear it also means I have a mercurial personality. I know that is true. (In addition, I'm a Rabbit. And my blood type is B. Can you detect a trend here?)
I am a gnostic-zen-daoist. My head is gnostic, my heart is zen, and my butt is daoist. But if there was ever a religion I could practice, it's vodou. I want to grow up to be a hungan - unless I already am one, I dunno.

(I lied about one of these -- guess which one. Good thing dishonesty isn't deadly...)
I'm in Wisconsin, wrapping up some old business. It's close to being finished. I'm open to ideas where to go next.
