Rhythm Division started in 1994 selling drum & bass & house but as the demand for UK House & Garage grew we decided to specialise & push this fresh new scene & sound.
As we were one of the first records shops to sell house and garage from labels such this much we were being flooded with big tracks from Labels such as Nice & Ripe, Dansa, I records & Ice Cream and with top leading dj's working at here you could say we played a big part in the progression of this scene.
Our staff roster boasted the likes of DJ Hermit, Daniel Ward, DJ Caspa, Trubalsom & Daryl B some of whom where producers and worked with up some great up and coming artist at the time like MJ Cole, Ben Keen & More.
Being one of the leading UK garage shops we had regular top Dj customers doing there record shopping such as Dreem Teem, Mike 'Ruff Cut' Lloyd, Ramsey & Fen, Karl 'Tuff Enuff' Brown & Pied Piper to name just a few, we even had a record label at the time (we will have to look in the dusty cellar for some clips of tracks)
Selling garage from 1994 to present day, Rhythm Division has seen the biggest changes in the scene from soulful & vocal 4 to the floor to the hardest & fastest 2-step
A few years ago if you was to shop at Rhythm Division you would probably bump into a new generation of customer such as Slimzee, Masterstepz, Roll Deep, East Connection, Femme Fatale & Nasty crew as we sell fresh from the press and exclusives from producers & labels such as Wiley, Geeneus, Fire Camp, Sticky, Jammer, Bigshot, Youngstar, Ruff Squad, Dumpvalve Records, Social Circles, Black op's plus many more but as the years have progressed a new trend of music and fashion has taken over, Wiley still remain at the top of the grime scene followed by some of the UK's new artists such as Skepta, JME, Chipmunk & loads more.
Respect due to Dizzee Rascal & Lethal B who have pushed grime music into the limelight, both who used to supply us with upfront material enabling us to stay at the forefront of their scene.
A new sound called bassline aka bassline house aka niche where the current keys players are T2, Jamie Duggan, DJ Q, Wideboys there so many to mention, this could be the new movement for this 2008 where the fusing the heaviest bass and the odd occasional sharp vocal are combined. We specialise in all the upfront UK & US Soulful, Electro, Minimal Tech House, UK Garage, 4x4, Bassline, Grime & Dubstep. It's no wonder Rhythm Division has received extensive media coverage from a range of television stations & high profiled magazines.
