We have all been controlled by the sound of Charlie, as referred to by his close friends, for years now. His magic fingers have strummed guitar melodies on songs such as More Than a Women (Aaliyah), One Minute Man (Missy Elliott), Call Me'I'll Be Around" (Cee-Lo), and a host of other chart topping artist. Charlie has blessed other artist with the sound of his guitar for some time, but now the time has arrived for him to become one with his guitar as he has taken that transformation from musician/ producer/ writer, to now Recording Artist.
A native of Pasadena, California, Charlie first picked up the guitar as a young child playing in church. Charlie comes from a family full of musicians, writers, producers, and artist, so it became second nature for him to follow in that tradition. Charlie started off playing for many of the great gospel artist of today, (Donnie McClurklin, Mary Mary, Brent Jones) just to name a few. He went on to play as a musician for just about every chart topping act in the music industry. His credits include, Jay Z, Ja Rule, P Diddy, Nelly, Busta Rhymes, Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Ashanti, Brandy, Mario, Tweet, Missy Elliott, Toni Braxton, Mary Mary, and the list goes on and on. Charlie has appeared on many TV, and award shows, such as ,The Tonight Show, Mad TV, Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen Degeneres, BET, Pepsi Smash, ESPY Awards, Soul Train Awards, Lady Of Soul Awards, and the list continues with to many to name.
With the need to move on to the next level in his career, Charlie teamed up with his older brother, Producer / Writer Kenny Bereal. Together they formed a production team called CKB Music, which stands for (Charlie & Kenny Bereal Music). They went on to produce such hit records as My Love is Like Whoa.. (Mya), The Morning After(Deborah Cox), Things You Say (Whitney Houston), Do What It Do (Jamie Foxx) and they have also worked with a host of other artist such as, Sisqo, Blaque, Terry Walker, Tweet, Missy Elliott, The Rocafella Family, Mario Winans, Fantasia, Timbaland, P. Diddy, Joi Campbell and the list goes on as they continue to work in that arena.
"It's cool, doing records and playing for everyone, but I need to let the world know who I really am through my own music," says Charlie. " I feel its my time and season to share this gift of music God gave me with everyone, from my point of view." With that, Charlie's goal now is to become one of the biggest artists in history. His sound comes straight from the soul, his rhythm comes from the streets, and his lyrics come from the heart. Charlie's music is centered around his guitar. He plays what he feels inside, and he delivers it in a very simple but compelling manner. He captures the old school vibe of true music, with the new school hit of heavy drums, and catchy hooks.
