About Me

At first it seemed like Brendon would be playing soccer professionally for a living. But after a tour of Europe with NSWIS and being selected in the Open Australian Schoolboys team, he suffered a severe shoulder injury that would keep him out of goalkeeping for 8 months. During this time Brendon began playing guitar and realised that's all he wanted to do.He became involved with school productions working his way to becoming a graduate of the prestigious Talent Developement Project and eventually found his way into the biggest variety show in the world, The School Spectacular where he was selected to sing an original composition. He began studying Jazz and playing clubs and pubs where his unique brand of Jazz/Blues versions of contemporary songs soon led to a strong following and interest within the music industry.Putting aside this interest, Brendon auditioned for Australian Idol which he says was "One of the hardest decisions I've ever made considering the stigma that can come with being on the show." He travelled through the early rounds with ease, playing acoustic versions of hip hop/rap songs and mashing together popular songs from the charts. Astoundingly at the time of his audition airing on channel ten his acoustic blues take on Coolio's Gangsters Paradise was the 4th most viewed video on popular site Youtube. But the singer/songwriter admitted that being thrust infront of one of the country's best session bands without his guitar was a little daunting and "just wasn't for me". Although the show didn't quite suit his acoustic felt musical direction, he remains positive about the experience saying "I met some incredible people during the show and some of the best mates I have now came from being there".He is now about to start work on his debut EP as a part of the Blues/Jazz/Acoustic duet "Microwave Jenny" featuring fellow TDP graduate and School Spectacular performer Tessa Nuku.
