About Me

I found out on the Tyra Banks Show that I'm going to die at age 72. I'm 27 right now, so as this is the inverse age of my projected death year, I'm doing some preemptive soul-searching to figure out how best to spend my fewer-than-two-thirds of remaining lifespan. But hey, it's been a good ride so far, you know?

My Interests

the 2008 elections, theatre, museums and visual art, music, cab savs, learning about stuff I hadn't thought to learn about, travel, really great writing, and linguistics. and going salsa dancing and hanging out with friends at parties.

I'd like to meet:

Let's go ahead and meet because I have a feeling I already like you. But just please don't say "I'm sorry but that was so random" or "You are so weird!" or "Has anyone ever told you that you look like that girl from Spiderman?" and things will work out smoothly.

Music:

I put on CD's when I'm doing the dishes: lately it's either Gnarls Barkley or French cafe music. A late bloomer, I am just now discovering the awesomeness of The Clash.

Movies:

Recent favorites: Helvetica, Dreamgirls, Ratatouille, Proof, Tristram Shandy, The Queen, and the Nader documentary, and my all-time favorites include Being John Malkovich, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and Election. And of course Rainbow Around the Sun.

Television:

Cash Cab, Mythbusters, Pimp My Ride

Tourists Should Be More Discerning

I don't subscribe to the general notion that tourists suck. New York will always be a city full of tourists, and I appreciate the impact they have on the economy. Whenever I hear someone moaning and...

I Never Win Anything

Have you noticed that whenever someone wins something, they usually say, "Oh, my god, I never win anything!"? I think that's odd because if everyone says that, then that would imply that no one is wi...

Moral Question

I live in an apartment building. Often, when I enter or leave the building, someone's friend (presumably) is standing there waiting to get it. I almost always let them in, because it seems like a ni...
