The Great White Hopes

About Me

The Great White Hopes is a three piece band from the Shotley peninsula in Suffolk, comprising David Steel on bass, Peter Callaghan on drums and James Callaghan on guitar and vocals.
As a group they have been playing together for about 18 months. The original line up has changed and while brothers James and Peter have been in the band since the beginning they have experimented with two other bassists, before settling on David, who has played with various other bands in the area, gaining significant musical experiences in his wake.
Their original material, penned by James Callaghan, displays a maturity in musicianship and lyrical content that belies their relative youth. James and Peter have only just turned 16 and Dave is 17.
The Great White Hopes are a grunge band playing mostly original material consisting of strong power-chord rhythms and gripping riffs underpinned by punchy bass lines and solid drum patterns.
They have a growing reputation for their live shows which are full of passion, energy and sheer enjoyment for their craft.
