Hi!
I'm currently studying for a Master Degree in Music Composition at Goldsmiths, London University.
And I'm also giving private lectures in Music Theory, Composition and Piano around Greenwich.
Previous Education:
Maja Mitrovic had attended elementary music school since eight years old, playing the piano. Right after learning first notes, instantly started creating her own music. During next six years, she had won several “Golden Mermaid” awards for children due to excellent performances and 2nd prize at the Festival of Children's Creative Music Work "Children composers" in Belgrade. From 1999 – 2003 she had been attending prestige High Music School in Belgrade “Josip Slavenski”, at the Department for Musical Theory and Early Music, playing the harpsichord. She had graduated with highest marks. While studying harpsichord with Svetlana Stojanovic, she participated in master classes held by Steven Devine (Trinity College of Music, London), Predrag Gosta (Atlanta) and Peter Lönerberg (Sweden). She had been performing at Belgrade City Hall, Student’s Cultural Centre, Ethnographic Museum, Serbian National Museum and famous concert hall “Kolarac” in Belgrade. She had also visited couple of smaller cities while touring with the early music ensemble “Joculatores Slavenses”. Her recitals have been recorded and broadcasted on couple of television channels (“RTS1” - National television, “Studio- B”, “Art”, “Politika” and “Pink”) as well as on the “Belgrade Radio 3”. Maja was a participating student in several composition workshops and courses held outside of Serbia, some of which are: Irish Composition Summer School 2003 (Limerick, Ireland) and The Festival of Young Artists, Bayreuth 2003 (Germany). She’s an active participant in a “music life” of Belgrade covering fields of contemporary and early music branches. Since she's received several commissions for her works, you can mostly find her name under performing composer, but also as a performing singer of contemporary music, harpsichordist or basso continuo player and pianist. She has graduated “Theory and Pedagogy of Music” at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade in September 2007. Also finished three years of Composition course at Music Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad.
