As a nine-year-old I was burned on 100% of my body and given less than one percent chance of surviving the first night. This may come as a stunning surprise, but I did survive. I had to endure months in the hospital, years in therapy and surgeries - but I did survive.As with all of our challenges in life, we can actually use them as the foundation to future success. Every time we fail or fall - and choose to get back up - we grow. The greatest lessons my childhood fire taught me are the importance of family, friends, resilience, and faith (faith in God, ourselves and others) in our lives.I started rehabbing houses after college because I wasn't sure what else to do. Seven years later I went back to school and was certified to work as a hospital chaplain because I wanted to do more. Now I utilize experiences as a hospital chaplain, burn survivor, college student, business owner, Ambassador for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and as a father to share with audiences that everyone can overcome challenges and achieve success in life.
