Teddy Valdes, formally known as Teddy Medina, was born on June 23,1977, in Brooklyn, New York, USA to parents Shirley Valdes and Benny Medina Jr. Both parents passed away in 1985, from complications due to AIDS. Teddy also has a brother named Benny Valdes and sister Christina Rios.Teddy was bitten by the acting bug early on performing in numerous middle school plays. In his teen years, he attended John Jay High School in Brooklyn, New York, and participated in several class made plays transformed into school commercials. In 1993, he moved to Arecibo, Puerto Rico, where he attended Escuela Superior Dra. Maria Cadilla De Martinez High School. His high school days were spent singing with his brother and friends in the halls. He mostly attended El Teatro (The Theatre), there he was deeply involved in two theatrical plays. Soon after graduating high school, Teddy enrolled in National College of Business & Technology (Colegio Universitario). While in the study and work program, he worked for Coalicion Del Norte (Programa de Prevencion de Drogas, alcohol y Tabacco), a drug, alcohol, and tabacco free program. There, he was in several commercials about the matter. Being at the right place at the right time, Teddy on his way home from work, was approached by one of the producers of a well known show in the mid 90's in Puerto Rico called, "El Super Show", and asked to extra in the show.After receiving his Associates Degree, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Stationed in Hurlburt Field AFB, Florida, Laughlin AFB, Texas, and Dover AFB, Delaware. During his time at Laughlin AFB, TX, he was part of the city theater group, "The Upstagers". He head first, involved himself in as many plays as possible to acquire experience and needed back bone for acting.While auditioning for the play, "Little Shop of Horrors", a friend of his came up to him and asked him if he wanted to be in a movie, and as the saying go's, "the rest was history". Teddy landed his first featured film with Billy Zane, George Kennedy, Eric Braeden, and Armand Assante in the independent movie, "The Man Who Came Back". Teddy is currently married and has one child.
