In an era where"hanus crimes help record sales more than creative lines", this 21 year old MC has plans to change that and the way that southern hip hop is viewed over the world. His story began pretty much like any other child growing up in a single parent household, you have your ups and downs smiles and frowns and sometimes you had to go without. Since he really didn't have a father figure, his mom would let him stay over his cousins house often which helped him find his first love music. He was influenced by many artist that his older relatives listened to including Tupac, Outkast, Master P, UGK, 8 Ball & MJG, Snoop, Dr. Dre and Nas just to name a few. These artists would ultimately help build the foundation for his lyrical content, but his clever word play and country slang would make him a unique and versatile indivual. While in high school he began perfecting his craft freestyle battling agianst would be competitors everyday(slaughtering their asses) and earning the title best in the school. In 2004 he graduated school and had to decide what he would be doing for the rest of his life, naturally he chose the ability at which he was best at. In 2006 he built his own recording studio and has been flooding the streets with mixtapes ever since. With a huge underground buzz and a loyal fanbase I guarantee you will hear and see more of Jay $ C in the future!
