Born in Melbourne Australia: Steve Strangis is one of Melbournes most popular Djs and possibly Australias best trance Dj. With a career spanning for nearly 10 years strong, Starting off as a mobile Dj for birthday parties to the nightclub and rave scene in the late 90’s. Strangis is now one of the first of the next new generation of Australian djs proliferating trance music in a hard trance and electro dominating dance scene. Always known to be very choosy about the records he plays, Steve's style is described as very melodic, with a strong, emotive vibe. As charismatic as he is behind the decks, Steve has always managed to keep his sets interesting, captivating and less predictable.
Once classed as the Jon O Bir of Australia: Steve has supported the best of the best in the world of trance including favourites like Armin Van Buuren, John 00 Fleming, Dj Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, M.I.K.E, Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell, Adam White, Scott Bond, Christopher Lawrence, Gareth Emery, Markus Shultz, Cosmic Gate and so much more to mention. Having played at massive dance events in his home town such as GodsKitchen, Gatecrasher, Slinky, Two Tribes, Summadayze New Years Day Festival and Advenjah Festival.
But it doesn’t stop there for this young Trance protégée, having been chosen to play as the only local Dj in the main arena events such as Two Tribes, Godskitchen and also given the honor to play the closing set after Armin Van Buuren at the white party in 2007 and also to play back to back with Eddie Halliwell at Summadayze 2006. Earlier however, having played in the main room for Godskitchen 5 years in a row, Strangis is classed as the golden child of Godskitchen Australia, and was asked to mix one half of the new Godskitchen Cd that had also featured Trance favorites Above and Beyond. The new compilation cd had received rave reviews as one of the best trance mixes released in years. Steve is not only Melbournes very own, but has frequented guest appearances in events around Australia; having toured many times in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth bringing his unique trance sound to the Australian masses leaving them wanting more.
Strangis has his eyes set on bigger projects and goals in his exciting music career as in the last year he has progressed to working hard in the studio. His productions such as ‘Vatican 7’, was played by Matt Hardwick, Scott Bond, Adam White, Jose Amnesia and Above & Beyond on there ‘Trance Around The World’ Radio show. Strangis has started various projects for world class record labels and also working hard with fellow Melbournite Robert Anthony on various side projects in the hopes of soon to be released. As a testament to Strangis’s hardwork and popularity in clubland; Strangis made the infamous ITM top 50 Australian Dj Poll in 2007, as he came number 19th in Australia and number 7 in Victoria. Leaving trance lovers knowing that this is only the beginning of a large success
