Tennis, tropical beaches, the great outdoors, mountain biking, and the most incredible 14 year old kid in the world ... my son.
I'd like to meet:
Spiderman and a beautiful Christian woman. That would be cool.
Music:
Everything from classic rock to traditional jazz, modern rock to modern worship. Verve ReMixes, Songwriters at the Bluebird, Retro Lightning, Will Hoge, Gavin DeGraw, Train, Jet, Wallflowers, Matt Redman, Paul Baloche, Aaron Shust, Desperation Band, Laura Story, Anthony Skinner, Bad Company, Steve Miller Band, Foreigner, Tom Petty, Matchbox 20, David Crowder, Larry Norman, Maroon 5, Sting, Sheryl Crow, The Killers, Jellyfish, Jason Mraz, and a zillion others. Way too many artists to name.
Movies:
Doing movies less and less and opting for reading/study and prep for teaching the Word. Movies are feeling more and more like a waste of time, honestly. But if I had to pick favorites ... James Bond w/ Sean Connery, The Matrix (only the first one), Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Passion of the Christ, anything with knights and swords is usually fun, a lot of modern day sci-fi, The Bourne movies, Batman Begins, Spiderman trillogy, The Incredibles. James Stewart films, The Thin Man (series), anything based on a book by Michael Crichton (except his more recent books - which are filled with crap).
Do I sound like a typical guy? Okay, how about Sliding Doors and the English Patient ... two of my all-time favorites. And more recent political statement films like, The Constant Gardener and V for Vendetta, although with most of these you have to "spit out a lot of bones" and focus on the good parts.
Television:
Not too often, really.
If I do, it's Fox News, Grand Slam Tennis matches and bits of the World Cup! I don't waste my time on television prime-time dramas. Much more important stuff to spend my life on.
Books:
When Will Jesus Come (Hunt), 20/20 Prophecy (Missler), Isaiah, Revelation, Ezekiel, Daniel, Luke, John, Genesis, Exodus, Colossians, Romans, (pretty much the whole Bible -no other book is actually "alive" except this one). The Great Divorce (C S Lewis), Gleanings in Genesis (Arthur Pink), Sherlock Holmes mysteries, spy novels and time travel novels such as, Time and Again and From Time to Time (Jack Finney). The Millionaire Real Estate Investor (Gary Keller), Rich Dad, Poor Dad (and other Kiyosaki books). Most anything by Michael Crichton (especially Timeline and Disclosure), but his recent books are trash. Also, teaching on audio mp3 - check out www.khouse.org for Chuck Missler's line upon line Bible commentaries (incredible!).
Heroes:
As a boy from the 70's there is, of course, an eternal affinity for the original superheros - Batman and Spiderman. But in real life ... Jesus (there's no one like Him), my Mom and Dad, my two grandfathers, and my son (no one like him either).
