I'm afraid that if you look at a thing long enough, it loses all of its meaning.-Andy Warhol

About Me

I suffer from Parenthesisitis (the over-usage of parenthesis (or "brackets")), which is often associated with a rambling (and incomprehensible) writing style. Let's see...what else...I don't like raisins, bats or accidentally stepping in melted ice cube puddles with my socks on.

In addition to all of that, I have discovered that I really love using my power drill/screwdriver. (Thanks Dad!) It's great to hang window treatments and funky lantern things from the ceiling. But, I get the most satisfaction from using it to put inexpensive (yet handsome) furniture together all by myself. What a thrill! So, if you need some cheap furniture assembled, I'm your gal.
Oh, and I recently found out through very scientific testing that I'm practically an extrovert...not an introvert, as I had previously believed. This is all very exciting news to me, because I sorta hated being an introvert. Why didn't someone inform me of this sooner?! Hmmm?

I'd like to meet:

People who are fun and can make me laugh. People with heart. People who challenge me to be a better person. Creative people. People who've come to the understanding that life is really too short to play games. (board games would be the exception.)

In addition, I'd find it thrilling to meet Bono, Conan (O'Brien, not the Barbarian) &/or Zach Braff. Although, I truly doubt it would ever happen here on myspace. .

Check out the whole row of handsome down there in my friends list.

Television:

Came home from work about three weeks ago, only to discover that I had been set up with 'free' expanded cable, including HBO & Showtime. (I have been paying for the most basic of basic cable - abc, nbc, etc. Mostly to get rid of the very un-aesthetic rabbit ears that were perched atop my entertainment center.) Now, I'm quite sure that this was not a mistake, because I'm convinced that the cable companies are like drug dealers. They give it to you free for a while - get you hooked - and then suddenly take it away. Sure you can get it back. But it'll cost you something close to the equivalent of your first born child. Anyway, even though I have all of these fancy channels, I'm still not watching much tv.

Books:

The Bible :: Oscar Wilde :: Chronicles of Narnia :: Hinds Feet on High Places :: A Wished For Song :: Art books :: Photography books :: Vintage Fashion & Furniture books :: A Necklace of Raindrops :: S.E.Hinton :: Dr. Seuss :: Nylon magazine...Actually, I love to read, but haven't done much lately. Definitely something I should make more time for.

Oh, and the person who invented the flat iron. My unruly hair thanks you.

The best Valentine's Day ever...

Today is Valentine's Day. The day loathed & despised by singles everywhere. Some years I've dreaded it, but usually I make the most of it. Or at least I fake it well. I wondered how I was going to...

Tattered and Torn...

I have a chair that people tend to like when they see it. It's a very old chair (from the fifties). Beautiful lines& a fantastic shape that's both retro and modern. It sits next to my sofa and I of...

Embarrassing Moment number 728

Umbrella of Mass Destruction

Woke up today to a very blustery, wintery morning.  It's supposed to be spring, right?  Anyway....I took Jessie (the dog) out in a windy mixture of sleet, snow and rain. That was fun.  ...
