G.Willikers

Warning: This page may explain in graphic detail the life/history of G. Willikers in it's entirety. As a boy he would gaze out the back window of the family station-wagon creating future songs and poems as cars flash by, memories topple over each other transversely spinning clocks in record times. Rhymes would come to him at all ages, subliminally turning these crinkled pages until it rages into a blazing inferno at about the year 1991. The sun would shine bright on an empty book with countless pages. This were to be no diary, but a history book in the making. The youngest of three brothers, a father, a mother and a family of musicians; explorers looking for new ground to cover. And so they ventured. They ventured into the realm of early 90's G'd out rap like "Ghetto Boys, N.W.A, Beasties, and so on.... And so on they went, though this path was soon bent into forks in the roads, different paths we all took to meet up in the end, and explain to each other where we went. In the early stages of pages 1-23, the brothers came across another and created L.S.P. A Six Pack, a J.V., a J.H.1 and S.T.Y.L.E. These were the days of saving school lunch money for studio time. Seventh grade White Gangta Rapper from South side San Jose sporting ellese with a fresh ass crease. In between these pages this chapter goes through changes upon changes, but never straying from the "Hip-Hop/Rap" scenes local faces, still remaining in basicalliy all the same places. The group dropped an E.P. called "Only the first trip" in '93, a full-length(way ahead of it's time) ebut album called "The Antidote" in '99, and finished off with an album called the "Spacebar" '00, which included very little accompaniment by G. Willikers who went by: M.C. Lungs at the time, due to incarceration and a late 90's baby boom. Each member soon after moved in different musical directions; due to drastic changes in life, as one would usually come to find. One of the members started a Hip-hop/Goth ensamble called "KungFu Vampire". G.Willikers is known to perform live as well as in the studio with this band and it's front man (?). Another member and older brother "Jeremiah", started a solo project called "Verse" presenting a Funk/Hip-hop/Reggae feel, which G. is also known to perform live and in the studio with. And the oldest(and probably most musically ifluential)brother and group-mate turned his industrial/ambient gears towards a new, yet somehow old and familiar sound of synth-pop. He is now working in the studio with long-time friend and musician Benji, and they both recieve powerful vocal accompaniment by: Jon E.P. G.Willikers is known to work musically with all of them. And now the big QUESTION???? What is G. Willikers doing now. I think the real question should be, "what isn't G.Willikers doing now". A single father of two of the most beautiful human beings on the planet, he daily tries to make the ends meet in the grind of life and it's treacherous formsof reality. Constantly working and working on new material, whether it be poetry, music, art, or movie/kids show ideas e.t.c. The genre of music that G. Willikers should be categorized in would probably be something like "Mixtape or Miscellaneous".Mixing Delta Blues /ambient /electronic /reggae / pop /bluegrass /gothic /whatever floats his boat apparently. All styles seem to be a reflection of influences from multiple time frames, areas of the world, and genres. First, I'd like to thank you for your interests and recognition. If you are wondering about the dismal amount of song plays it's because "I hate stagnant material". Keeping this in mind, I will update weekly(daily if I feel the need), with new tracks from 4 track, 8 track, to studio recocorded tracks from random recording sessions all over the bay area, to home recodings as rough and raw as shit gets. Willikers is a musician/songwriter/poet from San Jose, Ca., currently working on his first solo debut release, to be entitled "I'm Beautiful Inside." This project reflects G's broad musical taste, and is very diverse. Acoustic guitar work is the forefront of the style, but mixed with some psychedelic synths and blues melodies and changes, and the occasional breakbeat, with a captivating vocal style, brilliant song writing, drifting into spoken word poetry over melodic rhythms including many forms of Percussion, Dulcimer, Banjo, and a bit of Lap Steel Slide.(live performances are a must see) Not only is G a solo artist and avid poet(San Jose Slam poetry finalist 2006 and 2007), but he is a former member of LSP/Kung Fu Vampire, and currently a member of the live funk/jam ensemble known as "Rebelskamp". He performs with his brother Jeremiah, aka "Verse", who is also the Rebelskamp bassist, and G was featured on the album released by Verse entitled "Real Eyes" in 2005. Willy has also been working with Synthface, a SF based electro-group which consists of good friends" Benji & John EP", and oldest brother Justin (aka "Settler" - synth player in the "Kamp"), and they are gearing up to release their first project together as well. Chris Bundy is a fellow friend/poet/musician, also plays percussion and does the sound engineering and recording for G. & the Kamp, along with Settler. Alot to come from this group of muti-talented artists.
