Proceeds are donated to Operation Hero Miles, our designated charity! $1.00 from each download is donated to Fisher House Foundation/Operation Hero Miles. The remaining funds are used to support the "Let Them Go First" campaign. The 'Let Them Go First' campaign seeks to encourage airline pilots and passengers to "let the soldiers go first" when disembarking from the plane so that the soldiers might be reunited with their families, because every moment matters when you're home again.Operation Hero Miles is the designated charity for the planned fundraiser. Operation Hero Miles permits people to donate their frequent flier miles so that families may be flown to be with injured soldiers. The funds are used to pay for related costs such as aiport fees, taxes on the tickets, airport security, etc.The "Let Them Go First" song is based upon a true story that happened on Continental Airline Flight 50 on January 1, 2006, from Houston, TX, to Newark, NJ. This captain will be interviewed in the near future regarding his decision to Let Them Go First! You can read the touching story about the "Let Them Go First" song, information about the campaign and fundraiser as well as beautiful e-mails in support of LTG1 from folks like you on the "Let Them Go First" website:

WHO ARE MY INFLUENCES? The Captain Gary W. Butler of Continental Flight No. 50, who unknowingly started this movement, and 3rd-grader Charles McDaniel, who inspired the song "Let Them Go First" by his story about Flight No. 50, and every passenger on Flight No. 50 who LET THEM GO FIRST!!!
AND EVERYONE SERVING AT THE FRONT AND THE HOMEFRONT! MY NEWEST HERO: JOHNNIE BUBARBelow is an example of what we can do to help us promote Let Them Go First and support our soldiers and their families. Just do what our friend Johnnie Bubar did:"I'd like to know more about this. I happened to be at the airport in Nashville on Sunday 9/10/06 and there was a soldier there returning from Iraq. I asked him if he had seen the emails going around or any info on this and he said "no"."So I took it upon myself and went to the front of the line and made an announcement about this very thing and got him to the front of the line AND got him a standing ovation from all the folks there. I didn't have any authority to do a thing like this, I seized the moment!"I figured that the worst that would happen is I get laughed at or shouted at or something. Quite the contrary! He was also made an announcement of by the Captain onboard over the plane's PA system. He was bought drinks and/or anything else he wanted."To make a long story a bit shorter, the folks aboard that flight tried to make his flight a memorable one. One gentleman shouted out, "He does what he does so we can do what we do". Best wishes friend!!" - Johnnie BubarJohnnie shows the spirit of the LTG1 grassroots campaign! Let us know what you've done, too, or if you are a soldier, if anyone let you go first!FEATURED LTG1 HOMECOMING FOR CALIGIRL AT HEART!Watch the vido of the actual homecoming and read the story at the following link: CapitalNews9 Video
