I am here for Friends

About Me

"There's a whole lot more to this man than a gnarly beard, girl's pants, and those seemingly ever-present headphones. He is a sincere and concerned friend, one whom I am grateful to know and honored to be loved by. Charlie is an aficianado of fine and beautiful things, and whether he always knows it or not, I am without any doubt that in the beauty he experiences and shares, he is desperately seeking new awareness of the presence and love of Christ.
Jesus and Charlie are pretty inseparable. It's never something that I've ever heard anyone feel proselytized or pushed around by. Rather, love for Christ is just a given for Charlie. Anyone who really gets to know him can see that. It's like waking up in the early morning and knowing that, sooner or later, the sun's going to rise. It's not that sometimes we don't doubt that light to come when we lie still and silent in the dark. It's just that we're assured that light will come, and that in fact, it is somehow already here. Charlie is a young guy trying to embrace the oldest of ancient mysteries, and through his life and love of others, I have no doubt that the Mystery is embracing him back.
Charlie Wagers is a creative, talented, and ever-growing man, one that I am honored to call 'Brother' and 'friend'." - Adam Baker

My Interests

Friendship, Hope, Love, good conversation, and everything that falls between the cracks of the aforementioned. Pursuing deep and meaningful relationships. Reflecting honestly upon things of a spiritual, theological, and philosophical nature. Trying to live in such a way that God's love will be seen through me in such a way that once I am gone, He will be remembered, even though all else about me might be forgotten. Loving the unlovely. Striving for perfection, all while knowing that it will never be attained in this skin. Expressing myself creatively through the arts and aesthetics. Watching others expressing themselves creatively through arts and aesthetics. Doing my best to simplify and not consume, or be controlled by the media. Opposing materialism while struggling with it. Being taught. Being a teacher. Reading and learning from books, usually too many too count at a time, and still feeling the need to explore more. Traveling with close friends, usually involving music and/or vans, and people packed tightly (yet friendly and comfortably) into tiny wheeled spaces.
Enjoying and exploring musical experimentation within which others have explored, created, and developed ideas and wonder. Attempting to do the same.
Apple Computers, Art, Back-Scratches, Bare-feet, Bikes, Cameras, Community, Corduroy, Dancing, Denny’s, Dumpster Diving, Drawing, Driving, Dutch Blitz, Freedom, Giving, Hand-Claps, Hand-Made Items, Illustration, Jesus, Late-Night Diners, Late-Night Walks, Linguistics, Love, Making Stuff, Mexico, Minivans, Mix CD’s, Music, PEZ Dispensers, Philosophy, Photography, Polaroids, Printmaking, Rain, Reading, Revolution, Road Trips, Sandals, Sewing, Stenciling, Theology, Truth, Vintage anything, Vinyl, and Zombies.

I'd like to meet:

People I already know. In short, Myspace is simply another means of keeping in touch with old friends and new. I'd also like to get to know people open to spiritual, theological, and philosophical exploration. Additionally, those who will accept and possibly explore my love for Jesus, being willing to try to understand that He and His love are not necessarily defined by those who follow Him. I'd love to meet people with whom I have much in common, as well as those seeking to have meaningful and hearty friendships. Those with a passion to love and show compassion, and maybe even those who meet none of these descriptions - my hope is that others might attain a vision and allow their friendship with me to have a voice within the way that they live.
I have no interest in collecting friends. I have no interest in being ‘friends’ with strangers, bands, record labels, or whatever other random organizations are to be found on Myspace. No hard feelings, but I would like more than just numbers in my 'friends' list. I'd like genuine relationship.
