This is ~Wisdom formerly and still "The Diva" but recently added to my repertoire "The Poetic
-Biker Chick".I have been writing for over 30 years and sharing publicly for 11. So now
you know my name is well earned and well seasoned.I acquired my name through God speaking to me. (Prov. 3)
I am Spiritual but not a fanatic.I am passion and compassionate, my mission: "To heal the world, One Soul, One Mind, One Mic at a time!"
.
No matter where you are or who you are. No matter what color you are, what religion you are, what language you speak, what sexual gender you are, or what sexual preference you have. We all have one thing in common and that is...emotion.I make love verbally with your emotion, I dance lyrics into vision, fore playing movements with your mind, massaging your spirit and resurrecting lost souls.
I write for therapy to relieve me, I am the voice for those afraid to tell. I am the cry
for those who know tears well.I am the strength for those who feel weak; I yell for those who cannot speak, I scream for
those in pain, and I laugh with those who are insane. I love hard!I am inspired by GOD, family, love and life. Meditations by Inyanla Van Zandt and children’s laughter.Nikki Giovanni is one of my favorite poets and Ego Trippin' is the only poem I
perform that is not my own as a tribute to her. My personal favorite of my own works is
'Inner Struggle' because we all can relate no matter our status or position in society. As an advocate of change in my poetry community, all I can do is BE the change I wanna see by staying consistent in the promotion of unity, and diversity. Hence, my creation called VYBe.VYBe is an open mic show, more than just poetry...it's a feeling!I host the VYBe Poetry Lounge currently every Tuesday @ The Door in Scottsdale Arizona. VYBe is also a traveling open mic show DEMAND The VYBe in your city and experience the feeling. At age 9, Brooklyn-born Serena Richardson may not have known much. She may not have known that she had a purpose in life, that she would call herself a poet some two decades later, or that her pseudonym would be "Wisdom", but she knew enough to know when to start writing when the "Who am I?" question became ever more present for a young girl of Native-American and African-American descent. When performing her first piece in 1998 titled, "Who Am I?" at a spot called House of Grooves, she was titled "The Diva". This Gemini had a newfound purpose; she craved for the microphone. She was on a path to finding herself and delivering messages of positivity. She was a new person. For Wisdom, who recognizes her purpose as a gift from God, her charge is to speak words that bear truth with her mission being "To heal the world". She has performed on many stages opening for some of the industry's top artists, such as Kurtis Blow, KRS ONE, and Erykha Badu. A full performance show from her is a cultural experience complete with Native American and African dance, Native drums, congas and soulful vocals along with rhythmic rhymes. Deemed as "The Next Generation Host" and "The Face of Brooklyn Bridge Entertainment", Wisdom has featured at numerous poetry venues and Hip Hop shows. Wisdom has also hosted the hottest nightclub in Phoenix, Club I.O., in addition to hosting her own bi-weekly open mic night known as VYBE in the thriving downtown Phoenix area. Recently, she has provided renditions of her own poetic works, as well as those of world-renowned poets for several Black Poet Ventures "poeticductions", including "Echo Verses" performed at the Herberger Theatre and Phoenix College, and "If I Could Change the World" performed at The Phoenix Arts Center. Wisdom has also performed throughout the state at various arts festivals and universities. Currently, Wisdom is pursuing performances overseas and working on a CD where her provocative poetry can be experienced by an even wider audience. Whatever the venue, Wisdom provides an experience that an audience will never forget.
