Athene N. Kelly has a B.A. in Theatre and Dance from Arizona State University (ASU). ASU provided Athene opportunities to dance and perform with notable contemporary choreographers such as Ronald K. Brown of Evidence, David Rousseve of Reality Dance Company, Lisa Starry of Scorpious Dance Theatre, Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR), and with Mikhail Baryshnikov & Deborah Hay as a community dancer in the White Oak Dance Project. She also danced for D. A. R.T., Dance Arizona Repertoire Theatre, the community outreach dance company at Arizona State University. She continues her passion for dance as a company member in two well known Phoenix dance companies Kawambe Omowale West African Drum and Dance Theatre, and Zahr Jamil Traditional Middle Eastern Dance Theatre. She founded her own outreach dance company, Ethnique Danse, LLC, which focuses on traditional and classical dances of Europe, Africa, South America the Middle-East and Central Asia. Athene’s passion for dance continues as she is pursuing a Doctorate in Dance Ethnography.I chose to go by Sate'a Najmah as it suits me much better. I love my being, celebrating and honoring my ancestors, African, Asian , Native American, & European ancestry, I am truly Universal. I live life with an Attitude of Gratitude. I definitely have baggage as we all do but with meditation, fasting, and good company we can all usurp the negative and implement the positive!Dance is my being, and being is the dance of life. Without words, music, and movement my life is colorless, void of the magic that the supernatural and imagination bring. Visions of love, and memories of those who love me fill my melancholy mind as I ponder on the true love I have yet to find.Sun, Moon, and Stars give me the sight to see a clear path full of fun, joy, mystery, charisma, excitement, occasional anger, love, exotic attitude, curiosity and light! I am the dreamer who dream-fasts to other realms believing in Humanity! It's real and humanity begins with you and me, us, we the world! We can heal, we can make it together.
