About Me

$cottbox aka Scott Renton was the second last of five kids. Throughout his childhood he earned money running his own businesses with his brothers and by himself, while also taking that entrepreneur talent into adulthood. Scott moved into about 20 different homes in the Greater Saint John area before he was 20, and considers himself lucky because he has met so many great people. He has always aspired to either be at the top in business or music, or both. He along with his brothers are destined to prove you can do anything in this world if you focus, stay positive, respect others, be open minded, and be a hard worker, oh and don't let no one step on your toes (metaphorically speaking). Scottbox is determined to succeed in anything he does, and never one to throw in the towel.$cottbox has been beatboxing since he was 8 years old, and was first inspired by Bobby McFerrin's track "dont worry be happy" in the early 90's. Well now he is 23 and has been performing for quite some time, and does shows in such places as New York City, Toronto, and Havana to name a few. He's a rep for Beatboxer Entertainment (www.beatboxerent.net) and has been for 4 years. Beatboxer Entertainment is a NYC based company owned and operated by Terry "Kid Lucky" Lewis. His main focus is continue to push the beatboxing movement, its smokin to see it hitting mainstream levels. It is very real, and is happening before all of our eyes. Scottbox had worked alongside many or Canada's best comedians with his music, and has done comedy/beatbox shows with comedian/musician Paul Schuck (www.paulschuck.com). He's a east coast boy, grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick, but now lives in Toronto. Influences: Scottbox was first inspired from Bobby McFerrin around 1991 to start making music with his mouth. He loves any type of music out there, and he's been influenced by every type of music out there, music is life. Scottbox also gives huge praise to Kid Lucky for guiding and motivating him over the last couple of years, Beatboxer Entertainment is the real deal and is the true leader in the art form.
