About Me

Sadie was not all bad; or, rather, she was all bad just now, but, on the other hand, sometimes she was all good. Fairies have to be one thing or the other, because being so small they unfortunately have room for one feeling only at a time. They are, however, allowed to change, only it must be a complete change.-Adapted from JM Barrie's Peter Pan.

i’m sadie robin. i grew up on a commune. Since i'm always, always changing, you shouldn't take anything i say about myself as gospel. and if you know of me from the internet, well... i'm not as interesting as you've been led to believe. plus i don't do stimulants anymore.

My Interests

Currently: trees with flowers on them, organic cookery, drinking to excess on sundays, and season 7 of american idol.
also...
the life aquatic with steve zissou.
getting all tore up and passing out in the hot sun.
firefly. "i don't care, i'm still free... you can't take the sky from me..."
proper grammar (when applicable).
role playing games that are not massive or online.
tentacle rape.
the sound that green onions make when you chop them.
tilting at windmills.
sexing.
having my picture taken.
ume-flavoured gum, and
consumer culture.

Television:

Since I have been saying "I don't watch TV" and really meaning it long before it was cool, and since I believe that I have a duty to make the world safe for whiney little artfags like you to say that you do or do not watch American Idol (I do) without fear of reprisal, here it is: I (now) watch television.
So here are my favorite shows:
Battlefield Britain,
Firefly,
My Name is Earl,
The National,
NUMB3RS,
and Stargate SG-1.
For your consideration: Moses Znaimer's Ten Commandments of Television.
1. Television is the triumph of the image over the printed word.
2. Print created illiteracy. TV is democratic. Everybody gets it.
3. The true nature of television is flow, not show; process, not conclusion.
4. As worldwide television expands, the demand for local programming increases.
5. The best TV tells me what happended to me, today.
6. TV is as much about the people bringing you the story as the story itself.
7. In the past, TV's chief operating skill was political. In the future it will be, it will have to be, mastery of the craft itself.
8. TV creates immediate consensus, subject to immediate change.
9. There was never a mass audience, except by compulsion.
10. Televsion is not a problem to be managed, but an instrument to be played.

In Which All Sentances Begin With "I".

This will probably sound a bit insulting to my friends: I am solitary and friendless. Don't take it too seriously; it's just a state of mind.   Today I got to feeling as though I was merely anot...
