About Me

Hi, my name is Bojana. I come from Podgorica, which is the capital of Montenegro. I came into this wonderful world on July 5, 1977. I was raised by the most wonderful human being who ever lived on this planet, my Grandmother. :-) Wish you all knew her and then you would know what I'm talking about. You see, her husband died, so I was living with her in one apartment and my parents and my elder brother lived in another just 15 minutes walk from the place Granny and I lived in. Those were the days. We later moved to the apartment where my parents and my brother were living. My first memories of that time were listening to some wonderful music on the gramophone-Jimi Hendrix, Mahalia Jackson, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Simon and Garfunkel...Talking about my parents' taste. Great, huh? Then came the elementary school and wonderful friends who I shall cherish in my heart for the rest of my life. In the sixth grade, my family and I moved to Cambridge, UK. In the meantime, I got another brother. :-D Again, a time to remember. I went to an English school, not the one for foreigners. We stayed there for seven months. My father had to do a doctorate there. We came back to Podgorica. After High School I enrolled into University, English language and Literature Department. At that time they didn't have an Art school, so I though that I'm good at English(I always had the highest grade in school)and I might as well give it a go. I have always been interested in acting, dancing(I made my own choreographies) and people tell me that I sing beautifully. My English studies were not a disaster after all, because thanks to my English teacher in Cambridge and later my teachers at the University, I found out that I have a gift for writing as well. I know, I know, not easily seen when I write you messages, but that's because I'm extremely shy. Both of my brothers are musicians. They are my pride and joy. :-) My elder brother writes music, arrangements, he is a producer, he plays a guitar. My younger brother also plays a guitar. I just remembered the time when we would come to the beach late at night, some guys would bring guitars and then we would sing and dance all night long. Beautiful. I also remembered this particular day when my brother told me to sing back vocals and he would play a guitar and sing lead vocals. Anyway, we were at the balcony enjoying ourselves not knowing that there are some famous musicians from Belgrade in the building next to ours and at one point I looked down and saw them looking up with interest. You should have seen my face. I was out of their sight in a flash. hahahaha No, we weren't singing off key, as I said they were watching us with interest. I met so many wonderful musicians from both Serbia and Montenegro. Such lovely people and extremelly talented as well. I became a friend with some of them. Ah, this brings back so many wonderful memories. I escaped the talk about bombing of my country in 1999, because it was one of the hardest moments of my life. Life goes on, as Monty Pythons say-Always look on the bright side of life. Don't let anyone and anything gets you down. It is just not worth it. And remember that nothing is impossible. If you wish something hard enough, it will come true.

Music:

jazz, blues, pop, rock, gothic, metal, soul, funk, R&B, world music...

Movies:

Now, this is a real challenge since I like artistic movies, European filmography more than Holywood. Old movies as well as new. Movies that have a strong message, that have something to say. Please, I do not want to be misunderstood. There are many excellent directors in Hollywood, it's just that I don't like goofy films or second rated films. In fact, some of my favourite actors are making films in Holywood such as Jack Nicholson, Nicolas Cage, Johnny Depp, Adrien Brody, Gene Hackman, Robert Duvall, Ellen Barkin, Demi Moore, Angelina Jolie, Hilary Swank, Tom Hanks, Jodie Foster, Meryl Streep, Angelica Houston, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Billy Crystal, Dustin Hoffman, Susan Sarandon, Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Diane Lane, Sean Penn...

Television:

I watch a lot of television, I'm afraid. I know, I know it is not good. I like watching movies, some interesting documentaries, absolutely hate politics, love music shows, especiall live music, like some reality shows, but not all of them...

Books:

Tough one. Again,I like books that are more philosphical, that talk about life, love, soul, human depths...All those books about how to do this and that, how to cook a meal, how to seduce a man are boring to me.

Heroes:

The toughest question here, since I never had heroes in my entire life. I never needed them, I guess. I'm my own person. Every man is different. Every man is a story to himself.
