I was born into a musical family. My dad was the quintessential honky tonk hero and my mother sang in a southern gospel trio. Skip the details of how my righteous mother ended up in in a honky tonk on the south side of Chicago and let’s just say they met, fell in love and here I am. So with my music I can damn you to hell or save your soul - depending on the weather.
I didn’t wake up one day and discover I wanted to sing. It’s something I have literally been doing all my life. Traveling some bumpy roads, taking detours, and crashing a time or two has given me experiences and emotions to draw upon - so I’m thrilled to finally be writing some of my own material. Shedding the naivety of my 20’s, coming into my own, and discovering a side of myself I never knew, I’ve got something genuine and real to share with you... hope you enjoy!
It’s time we require our government to do it’s job - and to quit using us and our emotions as political fotter. Immigrationis a touchy subject that requires both strength and compassion to resolve. We can do it without the hate. We ARE a beter nation that many of us have become.Call your congressman and tell them we need Immigration Reform AND Border Security. Enforcement-only is not the answer. We CAN accomplish this if we hold our officials accountable to their promises.
Say NO to hate groups, hate speech, and hate crimes in the 21st century.
Be careful what you wish for... you just might get it!
Everyone wants an end to the immigration chaos. Really. Even the illegals. But be careful what you wish for. Christians who claim they don’t want government in their churches are begging for it with the SAVE Act.
What would the SAVE Act do?
Among other things, it would make it easier for the government to put religious and humanitarian workers behind bars for so-called "alien smuggling."
In an attempt at enforcement-only approach, it would require employers to comply with an error-ridden verification system to verify the eligibility of 130 million workers. That includes YOU. I hope you’ve never been divorced, remarried, or otherwise had a name change. I have. The governement is not flawless with its record keeping.
In a half-baked attempt to address our immigration crisis, the bill would throw more resources toward ineffective enforcement-only methods rather than offer a comprehensive solution. That means wasted tax payer money... Mr. and Mrs. Tax Payer.
We need leaders who will tackle the tough issues and solve a complicated problem intelligently, not offer false promises and empty rhetoric. The SAVE Act is the return of the Sensenbrenner Bill (HR 4437). It represents a failure in leadership and a cynically motivated attack on immigrant families.
Call the Capitol Switchboard at 202-225-3121 and ask to speak to your Representative.

Urge these Representatives to not sign the discharge petition. At least one Representative who has co-sponsored the bill, Rep. Artur Davis (D-AL), has publicly stated that he would not sign the discharge petition.
