Simply stated, Shevy is a pure MC with an abundance of style and class. This bona fide entertainer with a “slum intellectual” perspective and let’s-go-party attitude is able to take his audience from zero to ten without missing a beat. Shevy's motto in life is "Never look down on a man unless you are picking him up."
Shevy's first single, The Grind, recorded in 2001 and released to the underground in 2002, received a great response from DJ's all across the country and from the general public. Selling 4,000 units of this single strictly out of the trunk of his car and getting small rotation on Columbus' number one radio station and underground stations throughout Atlanta, Shevy soon realized that the music was there, but the business side of things was the next priority. The first goal was to solidify and increase Shevy's fan base while branding his name and establishing his own production company. This goal was accomplished by releasing another single entitled Kountry Pimpin', live performances, starting his own mixed CD series, doing radio interviews, making TV appearances and a host of other unique marketing tactics.
Shevy has opened for acts such as T.I., Kanye West, Cee-lo of Goodie Mobb, Juvenile, Pastor Troy, Cam'ron, N.O.R.E., 404 Soldiers, Ms. Jade and 3LW. He has performed at the well-known Sweet Auburn Fest of Atlanta, in front of hundreds of young people at Foxie 105's Summer Jam and Back-to-School Concert, Columbus' Chattahoochee Valley Fair, the prominent Clark Atlanta University’s Homecoming Concert, at the Nike BattleGround in Los Angeles, a number of times on UPN's Rnation Hip-Hop and Soul, and several nightclubs in Columbus and Atlanta. He also performed at the 2005 Vibe Music Fest Free Agent contest and was selected as runner-up. Shevy has been on tour for the past two years with The Heather Hayes Band. He has traveled across the southeast of the United States and overseas performing in places such as Singapore, Tokyo, Hawaii, Guam, and the Marshall Islands.
Shevy's debut album, Trunk Full of Dreams is scheduled for release in October of 2007. He is consistently recording and perfecting his art with current songs for other projects being created with a very selective team of up and coming hit makers. This team is lead by producer Isaac Hayes III (AKA "Ike Dirty") who's production company, Chart Control, produced Lil Scrappy's hit single entitled Money In The Bank featuring Young Buck; He has also worked with a client list which has included Chamillionaire, Too Short, Redman, Young Capone, the group ATL, and Blaque to name a few. Shevy also has number of features on other projects including the song Bumpin' Good, which is in the score for the hit movie ATL.
With Shevy's fifth and sixth installments of his Ride Wit Ya Boi mixed CD series soon to drop over 15,000 units in the streets from Georgia to Louisiana and even back down to Florida, international attention coming from the underground audiences overseas and a classic album just marinating, Shevy is well on his way to being known across the world as the great, evolutionary artist he is!
