I am an Australian saxophonist, hanging in Tokyo, Japan. I am involved in new, experimental music.
In April 2006 I was awarded an Australia Council Skills and Arts Development grant to study jazz in New York. While I was there I attended David Liebman's chromatic approach masterclass and studied privately with George Garzone, Joel Frahm and Henry Grimes.
I grew up in Cairns in Far North Queensland (of all places) and somehow got into jazz. When I finished high school I moved to Sydney and completed a Bachelor Degree in Jazz Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Since finishing the con I have been involved in a variety of projects ranging from free improvisation, contemporary jazz (quartet, trio and duo), funk, big bands and electronic music production. As well as this I have been teaching saxophone, flute and clarinet in schools as well as private lessons at home.Check out Andre' Houghton's, Ko Omura`s and Paul Derricott's pages for more music with me!
