The Raspas

Feel Free To Feel Fine

About Me

.. Exploding from the music capital of the world, The Raspas is a name many in the reggae, ska, and punk scenes around the Gulf Coast have come to admire. With talent oozing on to the guitar and microphone of Aaron Wolpin, the bass of Bryan Cruz, and the drums of Karl, The Raspas continue to impress their strong fan base while gaining new followers continuously throughout the southeast of the nation while maintaining an independent D.I.Y. attitude.
With all three performers being well rounded musicians and able to perform on each other’s instruments, as well as sing, The Raspas constantly find themselves in an easy, creative, and unique songwriting process unlike any other. Going from the mellow soothing sounds of reggae to the fast pace sounds of ska and punk, The Raspas are notorious for reaching everyone’s highs and lows. Such creativity leads to many rewards such as 1st place at 91 Production’s Battle of the Bands at South Padre Island, Texas. This earned the band free studio time which lead to their EP entitled “Cani Bus” which sold for over 1,000 units and has had songs featured on radio stations such as KSYM 90.1 FM in San Antonio, 92.7 FM in South Padre Island, Q94.5 in McAllen, as well as others. Along with consistent radio attention, The Raspas have gained tremendous amounts of attention after appearing on the front cover of McAllen, TX’s “Weird Magazine” as well as their appearance in the July issue of the internationally syndicated “HIGH TIMES Magazine”.
The Raspas’ favorite area of their trade is the stage. With over four years of performing this carefully constructed reggae, ska, hard-core style, the band has begun to spread all over their beloved home state of Texas as well as Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida. From the coastline to the inner cities, The Raspas are shredding up every stage they play with their unique style and in your face stage presence that seems to impress any spectator.
With the plot thickening, it’s interesting to see where The Raspas are going next. Though it has been only four years since their creation, The Raspas have accomplished more than many veteran bands could ever hope for. With this level of energy and complete dedication, The Raspas are continuously leaving there mark in this hectic music industry.
