About Me

I am a qualified English teacher but currently off sick from work, longterm, after fracturing my spine. The injury is permanent so I spend my life on lots of painkillers! I'm a huge music fan from Marc Bolan as a young child to a huge variety of genres today.Go to lots of gigs (even though I have to sit or lean, these days). This year I have seen Marc Almond, Nouvelle Vague, Songdog, Rich Hall and Supergrass (failed to see Morrissey as he got a sore throat!!), Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Charlatans (f*cking awful!!), Willard Grant Conspiracy, Howe Gelb, Vic Godard and Subway Sect. So far this year have tickets to see , Handsome Family, ,Leonard Cohen, Primal Scream, MC5, The Verve, Spiritualized, British Sea Power, X Ray Spex and Echo and the Bunnymen. Also very fond of real literature (so avoid the 'airport lounge' type of reading!) film and the theatre. Adore eating out (love indian and mexican food) though as a vegan for the past 29 years not always easy. Often frequent art galleries (I am a member of the Tate). I am very keen on Frida Kahlo and Tamara De Lempicka and also have a major thing for William Blake and William Morris (both their writing/ideas and their art. I am a lifelong socialist and hate prejudice, racism, sexism, homophobia, bigotry and people who think making jokes about these things are 'OK, because it's ironic'!! Sorry, being a bigot is never a laughing matter (stand up Jimmy Carr). I am only really here to discover new music, keep updated about musicians I already enjoy and to keep in touch with existing friends so, to be honest, I do not really want friend requests from anyone who does not fit in any of these categories. If you really feel you want to be my friend and are outside of these categories please message me first and introduce yourself. I prefer my friends to be 'real' rather than 'virtual'!
You scored as Existentialist. Existentialism emphasizes human capability. There is no greater power interfering with life and thus it is up to us to make things happen. Sometimes considered a negative and depressing world view, your optimism towards human accomplishment is immense. Mankind is condemned to be free and must accept the responsibility.

Who Should Paint You: M.C. Escher
Open and raw, you would let your true self show for your portrait.
And even if your painting turned out a bit dark, it would be honest. What Artist Should Paint Your Portrait?

You Are Not Prejudiced
Not only are you color blind, but you're also ethnicity blind, gender blind, and sexual orientation blind.
You don't judge someone until you truly know them. And even then, you're probably reluctant to judge.
You try to treat everyone equally. Everyone has a fair chance with you.
Good job - there's not a prejudiced bone in your body. Are You Prejudiced? Layout made by babycapicorn
