Stephanie Ryman grew up a military brat. Since she was little she lived everywhere from New York to Germany. She is a fourth generation musician. Her great-Grandma on her mothers side self-taught herself guitar and sang. Her Grandpa on the same side is in the Country Music Hall of fame in New York. Dick Thompson and the Driftwoods. He started his first band at 14 and stopped when he died july 11, 2004. Her mother played in a band called The Fugitives all over Germany. Stephanie has been singing since birth and writing since 13. Since moving to Nashville in 1992, she has been doing demo work, and back-up vocals for artists such as: Jamie Richards, Tina Mitchell Wilkins, This Train, Jimmy Barret, and others. Currently she is saying yes to every music opportunity. Writing more and playing Western Beat. She is a combination of Loretta Lynn, Bob-Wills, Bonnie Raitt, and Emmy-lou Harris(harmony-wise). You just have to listen to find out!

Influences: Actually..my mother made me sing everything BUT country when I was growing up til finally one day I said "I don't care what you say mom, I'm gonna sing country" and that was that. So I really do have a very wide range of likes of music. I really love classical, jazz, opera, rock, blues, blue-grass. Mainly. Anything you can feel from your feet. There's no place to put your sign on here so...if you're wondering-I'm a CAPRICORN.
