Like any paintings, these are primarily physical objects which really need to be viewed in the flesh to be fully appreciated, not least because I tend to use paint that changes it's appearance in differing light conditions (metallic stuff, paint that changes colour in a glare and glow in the dark stuff)Some of them are composed of jumbled imagery, others are stylised landscapes, and a few are more illustrative. They are bound together by a common style, one which I suppose I evolved from a host of sources; everything from watching too many cartoons as a kid, using computer graphics packages and aping their logic (a logic meant to ape us) and looking at tattoo, graffiti and other oft neglected art forms; as well as oriental and what some would call tribal or primitive art.The techniques I use also have much to do with the outcome of my paintings, basically I don't do any sketching or preparation for a piece, at the same time keeping the lines clean and relating each shape and colour to the last. This allows me to improvise and play with the image as I go along, so while I usually have a good idea of what I am going to paint at first, the outcome can vary far from my intentions, with any luck for the better.
people who are interested in buying paintings. yes, stylish and elegent, my paintings are a welcome addition to any home or office. as well as representing a profitable investment, they serve well to demonstrate the sensitivity and good taste of their owner...
