Luch and Eliza met in college in 2003; they had both been making music separately for several years. They combined forces along with their friends from college (S2 and Crosswords) and formed a group called “Syndicate.†Recently personnel commitments as well as distance has made it harder for them to get together as a whole; however they still managed to produce three mix tapes. They were recently featured in Boston Hip-Hop Pages premier issue of their East Coast Hip-Hop Magazine and are getting weekly spins on WUMF radio as well as the internet web-station HeatPartyRadio.com. Their Myspace page has only been up and running since 1/30/06, has accumulated 26,000 plays and made 4800 friends.
Luch and Eliza’s musical background is evident in their love for creating music. They have both been playing their own instruments, and writing their own songs for many years. Eliza has been playing piano for 15 years, and learned to appreciate the art of music at a very young age. She Placed 2nd in Central Maine’s Idol and has won several piano competitions. Luch grew up with hip-hop and started writing and recording his own material at the age of 14 and has also played guitar for a number of years. He was chosen out of 5000 applicants to compete in MTV’s Freestyle Battle in New York and has won local battles throughout the area.
Luch and Eliza have kept a strong hold on their passion for music, and continued to make tracks in their makeshift apartment studio. All their material is original with beats produced by E-Dub and The Kid; they have also collaborated with many other talented MC’s and producers. They continue to perform shows around local areas in Maine such as; Wiscasset, Brunswick, Madison, Portland, and Farmington, and are currently trying to get studio time to record a professional demo.
