Welcome! Thanks for coming by.
Music is my language.
Here you'll find a collection of my work; songs that I have either written or been a part of. Much of what you'll hear has it's roots in improvisation. A lot of the traditional hip-hop songs here are freestyle. The solo acoustic guitar and piano songs are my roots; it's where I began and where my heart will always remain. I love all types of music and hope to participate in as many genres as I can in my short time on this earth.
Currently I play with The Press Project - a 7-piece live hip-hop group out of Portsmouth, NH. With this group I have had many successes of which I am immensely thankful for. Blessings abound. In a short and quick 3 years together we have shared the stage with The Roots, Slick Rick (although I was somehow missing for that picture...hmm), Robert Randolph & The Family Band, George Clinton and Crew and Soulive. For more info go to www.thepressproject.com or find us in my Top Friends below.
Recently, I have also been joining forces with what I consider to be one of the world's greatest performers (and yes I say that so she'll continue to work with me). Her name is Iyeoka and you can also find her in my Top Friends or at www.iyeoka.com. She's a National Slam Poetry Champion and a mover of crowds. Our styles mix like nothing I've ever been a part of and I am quite blessed to have the opportunity to have found such a match. Be on the look-out for future projects. (see Baby Blue)
Where would we be without an Odoko tree? Odoko is another band with which I am constantly / intermittently working with. A band made up of one's mates is a band indeed, I say. In this group are 3 or the greatest souls I know and 3 of the most supportive and understanding rap scallions. We play covers. Classic rock covers, hip-hop covers, George Michaels covers and we're not afraid to change the words for a good larf here and again. Check www.myspace.com/odoko or look below.
Then there's the solo work. I've been writing music since 1996 and recording it on a home computer since 1998. Much of those early recordings will be released at a much later date to preserve their awesomeness (or their immaturity). I do take some solo gigs from time to time featuring just me and an acoustic guitar, but you'd be lucky to catch on of those as they don't happen that often these days with all of the other endeavors taking the first chair.
Well, that's about it. Thanks for coming by and if you've read this far, that's for that as well.
Come back often; as the world will change.
Love always,
Cap
