About Me

Let me introduce myself. For those that do not know me, my name is Travis Vp Fox and I am a novelist from the city of Brotherly Love. I am currently signed to Q-Boro Books based in New York. My first novel penned for the company is titled "Poison Ivy". I am currently working on my second novel, "Beyond the Mask of Sanity".I am a novelist that writes int he tradition of great authors such as:Edgar Allan Poe Richard Wright Langston Hughes Tom Clancy Dean KoontzI believe that my literary purpose is to create a genre that will transcend the lines of literature. I want to leave a legacy that will be impossible to follow. I also want to show the literary world and all aspiring African American authors that you do not have to give in to the pressure of the often sought after pipe dreams of riches and fame by writing stories that degredate our race and add fuel to the fires of the negative stereotypes that these books ofter portray.Click on the image below to order the novel:I penned "Poison Ivy" because I felt that the whole scope of urban literature needed a jolt. The stories in my opinion have all become commonplace in the sense that is you have read one, then you have read them all. I set out to create a whole new sub genre within the horror writing community. My book has been classified in the Urban Philosophical Horror Genre. Many have read it, but only a select few have actually understood the meaning behind the story on the first read.

My Interests

I was told by someone in the profession that making the New York Times Bestsellers list or the USA Today's best sellers list did not matter. Obviously, this author does not care about it, but I do. I will make this list. That is driving force.

DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Deceased and Fictional I would have liked to meet:Edgar Allan Poe: He held up both middle fingers to the world and did things his way. He pissed off his publishers, his family, and his most loved fans, but when it was all said and done, they had no choice but to respect him. He was the graetest writer of all time. My idol, and literary namesake.Jigsaw: The man was a genius. He knew your every more before you could make it. If only my mind could work that way.Billy Holliday: Have MercyNat King Cole: Smooth as silk in every way. His music provided the sensual backdrop on many a night with my woman.

I do not watch much television. Nothing on there to stimulate me. I wanted to add this clip from the movie Scarface, because I feel that is has a lot of meaning. I have learned that in the entertainment industry (literature, television, music) there are a lot of people that pretend to live, and act a certain way to get people to love them, when the ones that are themselves, get villified.

Books:

I am an avid reader of fiction. I love to read works by authors that make me stretch all boundries of my imagination. I am particularly fond of the works of Edgar Allan Poe. He is my literary inspiration.I must also say that I am a fan of my own bo
