About Me

Welcome to my site, I'm an electric bassist in Austin, Texas. I started out playing in bands in the Ithaca, N.Y. area where I grew up. I went on to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. I studied with some great teachers and learned a lot about music beyond the bass. While in the Boston area I had the pleasure of studying with the great Charlie Banacos. I played around New England for several years and moved to L.A. to attend Musician's Institute. While there i was privilaged to study with fine players such as Jeff Berlin, Gary Willis and Steve Bailey. Since moving to Austin I've been involved with groups ranging from classic Stax style R&B bands to Americana acts and some jazz/ experimental projects. I've taken lessons from renowned bassists Roscoe Beck and Ed Friedland. A few years ago I got the opportunity to study with the bassist Jack Casady. He was one of my earliest influences. I recently formed the band, Burly, performing some original material along with covers by such artists as The Meters, Marvin Gaye, Little Feat, Aretha Franklin and other New Orleans/ Southern Soul/ R&B acts.
