cross stitch, needlepoint, embroidery, knitting, anything that has to do with needles (even tattoos--I have 4 so far), etsy, radical crafting, the prevention of cruelty to animals, women, and children, (men get to fend for themselves, I guess); graphic design, painting, art, sociology, cultural anthropology, religions & belief systems, politics (in moderation), travel, the use of fonts for expression, and anything else that catches my fancy.
anyone crafty, thrifty, artsy, nifty, or just plain nice...
I have such eclectic tastes that I couldn't even begin a list. I will listen to techno, house, latin, acid jazz, punk (from when it really was punk), southern gospel (in small doses), and classic rock to name a few. About the only type of music I never developed a taste for is country, and classical tends to make me sleepy.
off the top of my head, I liked: Romeo & Juliet (the cool version), Chicago (paid to see 6 times in the theater), White Christmas (ok so I'm sappy), Speed (admittedly more for the eye candy than the plot), Titanic (for sentimental reasons), The Breakfast Club (a good sociological study), and Office Space (just plain funny).
Yawn. TV is just not a priority. If I do watch, it's typically a Bravo show such as Project Runway or Million Dollar Listing. I could survive just fine without a TV, and I didn't even turn one on until just a few years ago- after NOT watching for about 10 years. Never cared for it when I was a kid, either... and I absolutely HATE it when people use the TV for background noise!
I'm a semi-avid reader; I prefer non-fiction but of course like to escape into a good story as much as anyone. A book can also serve as a great canvas...currently altering: A Treasury of Philosophy (published in 1954).
People who are not afraid to be themselves. People who stick to their convictions. People who have convictions in the first place. People who don't let an illness become an excuse not to live. People who imagine something and make it happen, or at the very least make attempts to transform their pipe dream into a reality. Oh- and Jenny Hart.
